Now Is The Time

Look to the future

Look to the past

Look to your mama

She’ll have the answer fast

Oh but we forgot something, baby

We forgot something so good

We got to hold the present time

A gift God understood

Can’t forget now, what’s here and how

Looking at the signs, can’t forget this time

Can’t forget this time

Now is the time

Dreamed all day long

Waiting for what’s to come

And now that I’m looking back

I wonder what I have done

Don’t seem to remember, spring into September

Sleeping through my life, can’t forget this time

Can’t forget this time

Now is the time

He told me I was special

That I had work to do

One day when we would meet

I would know what I’ve gone through

Faces in the mirror, lines becoming clearer

Don’t know where they’re from, they cannot be undone

Can’t forget this time

Can’t forget this time

Now is the time

Now is the time

(Said) now is the time

Under the Stars

The nice thing about sleeping under the stars is that one does fully connect with God and the universe —as it is apparently infinite while you look at them and they back at you. A moment perhaps of trepidation, but trust that God only opens the door wider if you hear the Holy Spirit. I was reminded of that not only yesterday after your ceremony, but also while I gazed into the window of the universe  and Milky Way in my small eyes that kept with the dark of night. God is everywhere and in everything.

What About You

I’ve gone on and on about what’s wrong

And saying what I’m thinking

Tried to get you to open up

But you’d rather keep me guessing

Well, I’m obviously none to happy

With this current situation

So how are we to decide responsibly

How to handle the complication?

What about you

What about you

It took years and years of built up tears

To break down our communication

All the passive snides and little white lies

Were turned into altercations

What about you

What about you

So come on baby you got to tell me

What’s going on in your mind

We can’t solve anything if we’re being

Distant and wasting time

Let’s work this out before it’s too late

And too much damage has been done

Time has gone by ‘tween you and I

That cannot be undone

Put It In God's Hands

Put it in God’s hands

Put it in God’s hands

Oh, put it in God’s hands

One at a time, man

One at a time, man

Can’t take but one at a time

Want to believe it

Want to believe it

Can’t come without believing

Put it in God’s hands

Put it in God’s hands

Oh, put it in God’s hands

Come into being

Come into being

No more competing

Babe, it’s a feeling

A wonderful feeling

No more resisting

Put it in God’s hands

Put it in God’s hands

Oh, put it in God’s hands

One of a kind, yeah

One of the mind, yeah

Said law of the divine

Two into three then

Is one harmony and

Know it’s in God’s hands

Put it in God’s hands

Put it in God’s hands

Oh, put it in God’s hands.

This Precious Early Dawn

Shall we run away at sunrise?

Follow where the wild geese play

Until they take flight

It would be sweet to stay

Embrace our beating hearts

We could learn to love again

You with me and I with you

Not to give away it

And I don’t want to say it

Though I secretly crave it

And that much is true

My heart is in a frenzy

‘Cause my soul can somehow sense

Meaningful and crazy

I cannot decide what is next

And I love to feel you near me

I’m on your side o’the bed

This morning is all I need

To fall outside my head

You’ve made coffee, watching me sleep

Deeper into the sheets

Pray forever this keeps

This precious early dawn

Breathing glimmers on the snow.

Messages to Myself

Little thoughts and bits of script

Left in spaces, some secret places

Just for cases like this

Should I ever find time

Needing music or rhyme

Right here left behind

Messages to myself.

Some tales are real, some a steal

Others don’t even make sense

A few bars or quotes, musical notes

To finish someday past tense

Messages to myself.

Young me to old me

What I knew now of when

What I didn’t care of then

And yet it all for reason now

I’d relearn the dream somehow

The clues are all around

Waiting to be found

Messages to myself.

How Did That Go?

I remember not too long ago

Took my hand, said where do you want to go?

We were young want to, run the age together

Thought the time was on our side forever

(Chorus)

How did that go?

How did that song go?

We sang it far, we sang it for

The song had found an end before

Now how did that go?

Summer came then fell so far away

All the same when winter came to stay

I never left to put the dream aside

You never stayed to make me your bride

(Chorus)

Father Time then met Mother Nature

We arrived to find our kind of maker

And I sighed for that was all to do

And you cried for what I meant to you

(Chorus)

(Bridge)

It is done now we hold the grey

It is fine now I often pray

Recalling love that summer day

A fleeting lifetime had flown away

(Chorus)

(Repeat and fade out)

There’s More To The Story

There's more to the story

I am told

More to the story of getting old

More to live in every day

More to love in every way

There’s more to the story

For you for me

More experiences to share between

Connectivity we have therein

Sensitivity from where we’ve been

There’s more to the story

For a heart half full

That is climbing

Out of an old shell

I can feel it, now what say you?

How deep to speak this

And have it be true

There’s so much more

To lust and love

Much to explore

Below so above

With each turning sun

A new wish is won

A new tale is spun

And we’ve just begun

For there’s more to the story
